The Buddha-(introduction)

 My dear dhamma friends,

 Who is the Buddha?

The Buddha is the all knowing, fully enlightened, great  noble           being.

The last buddha to appear on our eath was the 28th gautama buddha.
pali is the major language of Buddhism and according to this language Buddha means"to know"
so buddha is "one full of knowledge".
Buddha is also full of wisdom(maha pragna) and full of kindness(maha karuna)
his kindness spread over good humans as well as evil doers.
it is important for us to know that Buddhism is a religion that places the highest attention on knowledge and wisdom.
The Buddha
My dear devotees,in the Anguttara Nikaya it is said

Sunshine - THIS IS SONG -AQUA

Good Morning Sunshine
when the sun is up,
on a clear blue sky,
you will act like a lover.
when the sky grey,
 and the rain comes down,
 you will run for cover.
feel the heat, come out of cold,
and your arm is touching me.

        good morning sunshine,
     you are my only light,
lying with me by my side,
you keep me warm all day.
just stay with me.

good morning sunshine,
be with me all day,
just don't let the rain pass you by,
when it's cloudy or windy
and the snowflakes arrive,
you somehow just make me,
make me feel I'm alive.

when you leave my field
then you light the stars
fading away in horizon
there is a million streets
leading off night,
waiting for sun to be risen
feel the heat, com cout of cool,
and your arm is touching me.
                                 good morning sunshine..//

you somehow just make me,
make me feel I'm alive.
hold it right there, i
et me take a minute of your time,
to explain how i feel through
these rhymes.
i do the best i can, and believe me
if i could
I'll build you a paradise with these
two hands.
the top of your skin, makes my
body go numb,
I'm thinking to myself,if my dream
come true,
or is it' cause you never give me a
chance to tell you
how i feel, the moments we had
were too precious to kill.
when it is cloudy or windy,
please turn your face at me
Good morning sunshine,..//
you are my only light,

Legends and chronicles

Legends and chronicles

The  Buddha's three visits to Sri Lanka

in the traditional legends of sri Lanka. the Buddha made three visits to the island in the course of his life. the Pali canonical texts however, make no mention of three visits. according to the legends, the Buddha made these visits because he for saw the decline of his teachings in India and wished to see it survive and flourish in Sri Lanka.

he Buddha made his first trip nine months after his enlightenment, arriving in a place called Mahiyangana.during this visit, the supernatural beings inhabiting the island known as the yaksas, raksas and nagas, embraced Buddhism after witnessing the psychic powers of the Buddha. he thus prepared Sri Lanka to receive the Dhamma and eventually become its protector.

five years later, the Buddha saw that a war between two naga kings called culodara and mahodara was imminent because of their quarrel over a jewelled throne.the buddha travelled again to the island to mediate in this dispute.out of respect and devotion for the buddha, the two kings gave up the throne to a third naga king called Maniakkhika of Kelaniya

the Buddha visited for the third time three years later,on the invitation of  Maniakkhika and preached the Dhamma in Kelaniya. he then went on to visit the mountain called sri pada where he left an imprint of his left foot at its peak.before returning toIndia,he stopped by at Dighavapi,Anuuradhapura and various other places on the island..
